JUNK FOOD LOVERS
Junk food refers to any
kind of processed food which is high in calories and low in nutritional value.
It includes burgers, pizzas, fries, salted crisps carbonated drinks and much
more.
Unfortunately our new
generation is fond of eating junk on daily basis which is putting adverse
effects on their health not only physically but psychologically as well.
INTRODUCTION
I strongly believe
that all the junk food has zero
nutritional value. It lacks all the essential proteins, vitamins, minerals. All
the fried items are cooked in low quality oil and too much salt to make it more
tasty and addictive.
EFFECTS OF JUNK FOOD ON
HEALTH
When junk food is consumed
on regular basis excess fat and complex sugars leads to storage of excessive
fat in body resulting in obesity and cardiovascular diseases.
Childhood obesity is a
major emerging problem these days.
BEHAVIOR PROBLEMS
Children who eat junk food frequently are more prone
to develop behavior problems such as anger, pro social behavior, and short
tempered and hyper activity.
TOOTH DECAY
Consuming processed food
with high sugar can lead to tooth decay at an early age.
ALL the ready made canned
tinned items claims that it has zero sugar and low fat is not true.
They contain hidden sugars
and preservatives to keep them fresh for a longer date.
Junk food can be
considered as a comfort food as it’s easy to cook or needs no time to cook and
no doubt it tastes good but giving adverse effects on health.
AFFECTING MEMORY
Poor eating not only
effect physically but also leads to memory loss in long term.
JUNK FOOD SHOULD BE BANNED
At least junk food should
be banned in schools and kids must b encouraged to eat healthy food during
eating hours and they must be encouraged to eat healthy food.
HOW TO PROTECT KIDS FROM
JUNK FOOD
This is the sad reality
that kids love to eat unhealthy and they are more happy if they are given junk
food on regular basis.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR GROCERY
BUDGET ON JUNK:
Kids nowadays have a lot
of opportunity to eat junk, so if you think that you are depriving your kids
and being harsh on them it’s not true….. Your grocery shopping must not
include:
soda and beverages, chips , ready made pastas,
pizza ,frozen processed meat, ready made burger patties canned fruits, jellies
and commercially packed desserts.
I am not being anti sugar
here but limiting your sugar intake is extremely important.
You can fill up your
kitchen counter with fresh fruits and vegetables.
Try making own homemade cookies and desserts.
Stock your fridge with
dried fruits and healthy snacks.
LIMIT TELEVISION
Don’t let your kids watch
television while eating.This can distract them and they will show least
interest in meal.
CONCLUSION
Junk food has adverse
effects on health and should be avoided as you are what you eat and bad eating
habits have bad impact on health.
Exercising should be a
part of healthy lifestyle besides food.
